More About This Project

Project Overview

The German-Africa Insight website project combined logo design with WordPress website development. I created the logo and built a website to present the organisation, its projects and its public updates.

German-Africa Insight e.V. is a nonprofit association based in Freiburg, Germany. Its stated mission includes supporting the social, economic and political integration of African immigrants in Germany.

The website brings together information about the association, current and previous projects, news and ways to get involved.

My Role

I was responsible for the logo and the WordPress website.

This connected the organisation’s visual identity with its online presentation. The logo provides a recognisable point of reference, while the website gives visitors a place to explore the association’s work.

My contribution covered logo design and website development, bringing these two deliverables together within one project.

The Challenge

A nonprofit website needs to serve several kinds of visitors. Some arrive to learn about the organisation, while others want to explore a project, find an event or make contact.

The challenge was to present these different routes within a clear structure. Visitors need enough context to understand the association before deciding where to go next.

The website also needed room for ongoing updates, rather than presenting the organisation through a single static introduction.

Logo and Visual Identity

I designed the logo as part of the organisation’s public identity.

Within the website, a logo works alongside navigation, headings, photographs and written content. Its role is to help visitors recognise the organisation as they move between pages.

Working on both deliverables allowed me to connect the identity with the website’s presentation.

Building the German-Africa Insight Website

I built the website with WordPress, providing a content management foundation for the organisation’s pages and updates.

The site separates information about the association from its projects and news. It also provides contact information and routes for people interested in supporting its work.

This structure gives different types of content a clear place. An introduction explains the organisation, project pages provide context for individual initiatives, and updates communicate ongoing activity.

The Result

The project brought together a logo and a WordPress website for German-Africa Insight e.V.

For my portfolio, it demonstrates my work connecting visual identity with an organisation’s online presence. The website provides a central place for its introduction, projects, announcements and contact information.
